LDG Announcements Mailing List Information

Subscribing to the LDG Announcements Mailing List

In order to prevent users from subscribing others without their authorization, our two-part subscription setup requires you to submit your request at our Web site, and then confirm your request by email. To begin your set up, click on the "Subscribe or Modify my subscription here" button and follow the easy step-by-step instructions online, or you may preview the process below.

To subscribe to the LDG Announcements Mailing List

1. At the LDG Web site, navigate to the Mailing List page and click on the "Subscribe or Modify my Subscription" button. This takes you to the LDG Announcements Information page.
2. At the bottom of the LDG Announcements Information page, enter the email address at which you wish to receive LDG Announcements.
3. Optionally, you may enter a name; however, this field is not required.
4. Enter a password. Please note that if this field is left blank, the system will generate one for you. This password will be needed to modify your subscription options and to unsubscribe. Do not consider it to be highly secure, as it will be included in the email text of the welcome message that you will receive. We advise that you NOT use a password that you normally use in highly secure environments.
5. Click the SUBMIT button to complete your request.

Within a few minutes, a confirmation request will be automatically emailed to you from <Announcements-request@sfldg.org>. The subject line will begin with “confirm” followed by a long string of characters that is unique to your request. Please be sure that the message is not blocked by any anti-Spam filtering. If the message does not arrive within several minutes, check your Spam, junk mail or bulk mail folder. When the message is received, please proceed to Part 2.

1. Open the confirmation request email and proceed to Option A (or Option B) in Step 2.
2. Option A:
   1. Press your REPLY button on your email program.
   2. Do not do not change the subject line or add any text to the message body.and press the SEND button.
      This completes the subscription process. Go to Step 3.

   OR

   Option B:

   1. Click link provided in the message to reach the Confirm Subscription Request page.
   2. Your email address will be shown, and optionally you may enter your name, and then click Subscribe to List Announcements.
   3. When Subscription Request Confirmed is displayed, you are successfully subscribed. Go to Step 3.

You will receive an emailed welcome message that provides your password. You may wish to retain this for easy reference should you need to unsubscribe or change your subscription options. If you misplace this message, you can always request your password reminder from the Announcements List Information page. Please note that the message also contains information on "posting of messages" which is not relevant to LDG Announcements.

Unsubscribing

Unsubscribing or cancelling a subscription

1. Go to the LDG Announcements Info Page.
2. Enter your email address next to the Unsubscribe or Edit Options button and click.

When completed, you will recieve a confirmation.

If you have any problems or need assistance with unsubscribing, please contact our administrator.

Passwords

About passwords

You may establish a personal privacy password at the Announcments Info page at any time. Although this provides only mild security, it should help prevent others from tampering with your subscription. DO NOT use a valuable password (such as one you use for your private email, your workplace or your banking account, etc.). Email security is never 100% and our system will email it back to you in clear text only.

If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated and emailed to you once you've confirmed your subscription. Should you forget your password, you can also request a mail-back of your password at any time. It can only be emailed to the last email address you provided.

Posting

About Posting Messages

Only the List Administrator may post to the Announcements List. No other postings are allowed. For any questions regarding list administration, send inquiry to our administrator. For all other inquiries, email us at our general email address.

LDG announcements are provided for adults only. Although they give general information on educational events, they do contain sexually explicit content and language and are therefore not intended for minors.

PLEASE NOTE:
By clicking the SUBSCRIBE button, you attest that:

1. you are of majority age as defined by the effective laws in your local area;
2. you are accessing our information solely for your own personal use; and
3. you have no intention of distributing our information to anyone unless you can provide absolute proof that they are of majority age also.

We provide this message to alert users, however, we assume no responsibility for the actions or for any subsequent result of the actions of any and all users who request to subscribe.

Policy

Our Policy

We, the Leathermen;s Discussion Group, provide the LDG Announcements, a free community service to adults, "as is." We assume no responsibility for any errors or omissions in any of our communications including but not limited to the content of our subscription announcements, our program announcements, our web site, and our emails. We do not share or sell our current or past subscribers' email address to others. We treat the information that our subscribers provide as privileged and confidential. We will attempt to send announcements to all and only current subscribers although we cannot guarantee delivery. We will automatically discontinue subscriptions that continually bounce back our announcements. We reserve the right to ban subscribers perceived as subversive or disruptive to this service or otherwise subscribing to the list with malicious or illegal intent.

Limitations

Limitations of our announcements-only list

LDG Announcemnts Mailing List is a private, secure, announcements-only list.
Therefore:

1. We do not display or share your email address with other members, non-members or other groups, and
2. No one is allowed to post messages on this list except our list administrator.
